Sheep flock health

Worked in first opinion mixed veterinary practice at Castle Veterinary Surgeons, Barnard Castle until 2012. She was awarded a PhD in conservation genetics by Durham University in 2007 and a Diploma in Sheep Health and Production by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2012. Since 1999, she has worked particularly with small ruminants. She is currently the junior vice-president of the British Sheep Veterinary Society and has been awarded the John odger Quaiche in 2007 and 2011. She worked to establishing ‘Talking Sheep’, a series of meetings run across Great Britain, aimed particularly at encouraging contributions and case
reports from younger members of  the  profession.  She  represents  the  British  Sheep Veterinary  Society  on  the England Sheep Health and Welfare Group.
She teaches sheep flock health to veterinary students at Nottingham University, runs CPD courses for veterinarians and organises training sessions and workshops for sheep farmers.She is the director of a sheep flock health consultancy business advising farmers on flock health issues, often alongside their local vet. She is involved in various
sheep  health  research  projects  and has  worked  with Evidence-Based  Veterinary Consultancy setting up a pilot lamb health project.She lives in north-east England with her husband and three children, spending most of their spare time in the hills of the Lake District and Scotland.
