Having graduated from Liverpool Vet School in 1965 I am now retired after a long career. With a farming background, I worked in mixed general practice for 20 years before returning to Liverpool Vet School where I completed a PhD then joined the staff in the Livestock Health and Welfare Division. I gained the RCVS Diploma in Sheep Health and Production in 1988 and was an RCVS Recognised Specialist In Sheep Health and Production until shortly before I retired in 2008. From 2004-8 I was Head of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Science at Liverpool. I was a Founding Diplomate of the ECSRHM and have been President of the Sheep Veterinary Society. I bred pedigree Wensleydale sheep for many years and successfully showed sheep and their fleeces. I am now retired from active sheep work but maintain an interest and attend most meetings of Sheep Veterinary Society as well as International meetings.
