Ian Davies qualified from Cambridge University in 1984. After 3 years in practice, he joined the Veterinary Investigation Service (latterly VLA and AHVLA) where he worked for 27 years in roles including Veterinary Investigation Officer, Senior Veterinary Investigation Officer and Head of AHVLA Small Ruminants Expert Group.  He is a past president of the Sheep Veterinary Society and a diplomate of the European College of Small Ruminant Health Management.  He is currently an independent sheep veterinary consultant.
